46 × 25 ft Custom Inflatable Pool Dome: A Wooden-Deck Installation in Real Use
This is the story of a custom inflatable pool dome we engineered and delivered for a homeowner whose swimming pool is framed by a wooden deck. The project began with a simple request — keep the pool usable, clean, and protected — and ended with a 46 × 25 ft enclosure that the customer installed themselves in a single afternoon. We share the full process here so B2B buyers and pool owners can see exactly how a made-to-measure inflatable pool enclosure is designed, built, and installed.
Project Background: A Pool Surrounded by Wooden Boards
The customer’s pool sits inside a raised wooden deck, which created two real constraints. First, the enclosure had to attach securely to a non-standard perimeter. Second, the dome had to be fully leak-proof so rain and debris could not enter around the edge. Standard off-the-shelf sizes would not fit, so the client came to us for a custom inflatable pool cover.
- Dome size: 46 ft × 25 ft (approx. 14 m × 7.6 m)
- Installation site: residential inground pool inside a wooden deck frame
- Structure: continuously inflated, air-supported
- Material: commercial-grade PVC tarpaulin, with extra reinforcement around the deck contact points
Design Phase: 3D Drawing Before Any Production
Because the wooden deck ruled out a standard footprint, our engineers first produced a 3D design drawing showing how the dome would sit over the pool and meet the deck edges. The customer received the drawing by email and approved it before we cut a single sheet of material. This drawing-first process is standard for every custom inflatable pool dome we build, and it is the main reason our custom projects almost never need rework.
Production: Extra PVC Tarpaulin Where It Matters
To guarantee stability and a tight seal against the wooden surround, we added extra PVC tarpaulin material to the reinforced edge panels. High-frequency welded seams and a strengthened perimeter anchor track keep the dome fixed and leak-resistant even under wind. Every unit is fully inflated and leak-tested in our workshop before packing.
Delivery, Installation & On-Site Results
After the finished dome passed inspection, we sent the customer photos of the actual product. The client installed it themselves — a process that, with the supplied blower and clear instructions, took only a few hours. The photos they sent back show the dome sitting cleanly over the pool and blending naturally with the surrounding wooden environment.
“The design is reasonable, it is easy to use, and the anti-leakage effect is excellent. Installation was simple and quick — it saved us a lot of time.”
Customer Verdict & Why It Works
The customer confirmed the dome protects the pool from pollution, keeps the water clean, and creates a safe, comfortable environment for swimming. They praised the durability and practicality of the unit and said they would recommend it to others. For us, this project is a good example of how a custom inflatable pool enclosure can be adapted to an unusual site — without sacrificing stability, sealing, or ease of use.
